CT scan Cone Beam

A CT scan with the Cone Beam takes images of the sinuses, lower or upper jaw or face at a very low radiation dose.

Course of the examination

The examination itself takes less than 1 minute and is not painful. No anesthesia is needed.

The major advantage of the Cone Beam CT is the impressive reduction in radiation dose. The dose is sixty times smaller than the radiation dose previously routinely used.

  • You can have this examination in a seated position and therefore do not have to lie down for the examination. Because you can sit in a seated position, the imaging is much better, where we can also recognize level images in the sinuses better. It makes it possible to prepare interventions in three-dimensional (3D) planning for combined profile corrections or with implants.
  • The nurse will assist you during the imaging.
  • After the examination, we can make 3D reconstructions on a workstation.

The radiologist who performed the examination makes an initial interpretation of the images during the examination. After the final interpretation, the radiologist sends a report to the doctor who requested the examination. Only this doctor can discuss the results with you.

This examination is only possible by appointment. Please always bring your identity card, your doctor's prescription and any previous radiological examinations with you.
