Patient participation
Patient participation in our hospital
In our hospital, we give great importance to patient participation at various levels.
At an individual level, we actively involve patients in their own care process, including through shared decision-making and discussing preferences and expectations during treatment.
At departmental level , patients are involved through initiatives such as feedback moments and department-specific patient councils, for example within the oncology department. Here, patients contribute ideas on how to further improve care and experience in the department.

Some concrete examples from 2024
As part of the new FlaQuM quality model, we did a survey to get an idea of how patients, their loved ones and their family members experience care at our hospital. Primary care partners and employees of Sint-Trudo Hospital were also included in this survey.
In addition, we organized a brainstorming session with patients and loved ones on quality care. These initiatives gave rise to our renewed vision of quality. We will repeat this measurement regularly.
