Dat betekent niet automatisch dat zwanger worden onmogelijk is, maar het kan wel zinvol zijn om advies te vragen bij je gynaecoloog.Om meer duidelijkheid te krijgen over je situatie, kan het nodig zijn om een uitgebreid bloedonderzoek uit te voeren bij beide partners, alsook een spermaonderzoek. Zo krijgen we een eerste beeld van de situatie. Verminderde vruchtbaarheid kan verschillende oorzaken hebben. Die kunnen bij de vrouw liggen, bij de man of bij allebei. Daarom bekijken we het traject zo volledig mogelijk.Afhankelijk van jullie situatie kunnen we je op bepaalde manieren ondersteunen. Denk daarbij aan ovulatie-inductie, waarbij de eisprong gestimuleerd wordt, of inseminatie, waarbij zaadcellen op het juiste moment ingebracht worden.

Gynaecological examination

During a routine preventive check-up, we perform a breast examination and a gynaecological ultrasound scan. We also take a smear test from the cervix and, if needed, screen for sexually transmitted infections (STI) or other infections.

What if getting pregnant does not happen straight away?

Getting pregnant does not always go as you had hoped. When pregnancy takes longer than expected, it can raise many questions. This does not automatically mean that becoming pregnant is impossible, but it may be useful to ask your gynaecologist for advice.

To gain a clearer picture of your situation, both partners may need to have an extensive blood test, as well as a semen analysis. This gives us an initial overview. Reduced fertility can have several causes. These may lie with the woman, the man or both partners. That is why we look at the process as thoroughly as possible.

Depending on your situation, we can support you in different ways. This may include ovulation induction, where ovulation is stimulated, or insemination, where sperm cells are introduced at the right time.
