Oncology and haematology
At the oncology department, you can come for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Cancer is a collective term for many different conditions in which cells grow too quickly and cause damage to surrounding tissue. The haematologists treat patients with diseases of the blood, bone marrow and lymph nodes. These can be both benign and malignant conditions.

Neurology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the brain, peripheral nerves and spinal cord.

Geriatric day hospital
In our geriatric day hospital, elderly patients can come and receive an outpatient evaluation and therapy. Patients are admitted for one day. They have to register at the reception desk. In consultation with the general practitioner and the geriatrician, we make a multidisciplinary evaluation and examine the patient that day in a comfortable and appropriate environment. The services at the geriatric day hospital are fully adapted to the specific needs of the elderly. The GP always receives a report from the hospital.

Breast centre
In the breast centre of Sint-Trudo Hospital, patients with breast disorders and their families can go for diagnosis, treatment, follow-up treatment, psychosocial guidance, information provision and rehabilitation.

Falls Clinic
The falls clinic of Sint-Trudo Hospital focuses on patients with walking and/or balance disorders and recurrent falls. A multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, geriatricians and nurses will help you with a screening and give you tailored advice to avoid falls to the maximum.
About 30% of people over the age of 65 fall once a year. Due to the aging of the population, the number of fall incidents is increasing. Direct injuries from a fall include bone fractures, soft tissue injuries and cerebral disorders. In addition, there are the psychological consequences of a fall, where the fear of another fall can undermine self-reliance. Both aspects can jeopardize independent functioning in the home situation.
