Lipofilling

Lipofilling uses your own body fat to restore volume or to improve certain areas of the body or face in a natural way. In addition, lipofilling is also used to soften scars and to improve skin quality.

How does the procedure work?

There are several techniques to process and use fat tissue. Your surgeon will discuss with you which option is most suitable for your situation.

  • Microfat grafting: in this technique, fat tissue is removed using liposuction instruments, for example from the abdomen or thighs. Afterwards, the fat tissue is purified. The purified fraction is then injected into the desired areas using a fine cannula.
  • Sharp Needle Intradermal Fat grafting (SNIF): with this technique, purified fat tissue is injected superficially into fine lines of the face or neck using a thin needle. This technique is an alternative to temporary fillers.
  • Nanofat: this is a specific type of fat tissue that is rich in stem cells and growth factors.
    • Nanofat grafting: a new and promising technique to reduce dark circles under the eyes. Nanofat is carefully injected into the lower eyelids.
    • Nanofat microneedling: nanofat is introduced superficially into the skin using fine needles. This treatment helps slow down the skin ageing process and improves skin quality.

Every surgical procedure carries a risk of complications such as bleeding, infection or wound healing problems.
