Social services

Social Services is the department that helps patients to continue after hospitalization to their home situation or a (temporary) residence. Read more here about how the staff of this department can help you with administrative matters.

What can we help you with?

During your stay in the hospital, other factors can play a rol besides physical problems. You and your loved ones can contact the social services staff for the following:

  • Assistance with administration
  • Discharge preparation
  • Organizing home care
  • Inquiries about hospitalization
  • Inquiries about social services
  • Psychosocial counseling and support
  • Practical and material questions: transportation, lending materials, etc.
  • Involvement or referral to other services: CAW, CAD, OCMW, RVA, ...
  • Referral to other inpatient services: rest home, rehabilitation center, convalescent home, ...

Social services are not available at a specific location in the hospital, but there is a social worker attached to each ward in the hospital. If you have questions or would like a consultation, you can always contact us. If you make an appointment in advance, we can spend more time to help you. Contact us directly or you can request our intervention through the doctor and nursing staff of your ward.
