General and abdominal surgery (surgery)

You can visit our department of abdominal surgery for the treatment of surgical procedures on the stomach and intestines, on the abdominal wall (umbilical and inguinal hernias), as well as on other organs in the abdominal region. The service also handles minor surgeries.
The service works closely with other disciplines such as gastroenterology (gastrointestinal diseases) and endocrinology.

What can we help you with?

The abdominal and general surgery team consists of two surgeons, each with specific specialties. They are in constant consultation and assist each other where necessary in the operating room, together with assistant doctors. Prior to the operation you will visit the doctor for a consultation and an explanation of the procedure and what to expect. In principle, the same doctor will then operate on you, but this can sometimes change. If you have a specific preference, you may mention it and we will always respect it.

The surgery is usually done laparoscopically, also called keyhole surgery, which leaves you with very small incisions and no large incision. Recovery afterwards is also smoother as a result.

After the surgery, you will be invited for a follow-up consultation with the doctor who operated on you.
