Request

As a physician, you can have samples analyzed at the clinical biology lab. You can use the paper request form for this purpose. This is available at our secretariat, or can be ordered by telephone or e-mail. On the form you fill in at least the following information:

  • Identification of the patient: gender, date of birth, address, contact information and a unique identifier
  • Your information as physician: name, RIZIV number, contact information and signature
  • Type of primary sample and anatomical location of origin
  • Requested examinations
  • Medically relevant information about the patient and the request
  • Date and if relevant time when the primary samples were collected
  • Date and time the samples were received

A limited number of analyses are performed urgently . If you need an urgent analysis, please indicate this clearly on your request form.

If for urgent medical reasons you also need other analyses urgently, this is possible after motivation and in consultation with a clinical biologist of the laboratory.

The clinical biology laboratory applies the third-party payer system. All clinical biologists are accredited and conventioned. They follow the official rates and do not charge fee supplements. Analyses that are not reimbursed are clearly indicated on our request forms and in the lab guide.

For laboratory tests for which there is no RIZIV nomenclature, and which the patient must therefore pay for himself (pseudo nomenclature), the amount is listed in the lab guide for the analysis in question. When requesting the tests, always keep the cost in mind.

Orders

As a healthcare professional, you can order materials from our clinical lab through the following link: Click on this link and open the order form.

Additional analyses

You can always request additional analyses on samples already in the lab. A clinical biologist can also add an analysis if it seems appropriate based on the results or the clinical question.

Additional analyses are subject to the conditions below:

  • The retention period of the sample has not been exceeded.
  • A sufficient sample is available.
  • The stability of the parameter in question allows it.
