Your stay

Day schedule

The times for care, examinations, medication and patient rounds from the doctor vary from ward to ward. The nurse on your ward will give you all the concrete information on how to proceed. The departments have their own welcome folder where you can find this information.

Please consult with the nurse beforehand if you wish to leave the ward so that planned examinations or treatments are not compromised. Please also wear a dressing gown when leaving the ward.

Your care

During your treatment in our hospital, your needs are central, whether physical, psychological or social. Our nurses tailor your care accordingly and are your point of contact. The nurse is in close consultation with the head nurse, the attending physician and other colleagues. At the end of the day's task, the nurse in charge reports on your condition in the file and informs the new person in charge about your care.

During your stay in the hospital, we try to keep your self-sufficiency as high as possible and improve it whenever possible. It is therefore important that you yourself participate as much as possible in your care. We will discuss together how this can be done specifically.

If you wish, you can designate a relative to advise or support you during your stay in the hospital. You can indicate this on the questionnaire that will be administered upon your admission.

Consciously choosing less pain

A good pain management reduces the risk of complications and allows for faster recovery and rehabilitation. Therefore, the nurses ask you daily if you have pain. Here you can indicate from 0 for no pain to 10 for the most severe pain you can imagine. These data are noted in your patient file. If necessary, we initiate appropriate pain treatment after consultation with your treating physician. It is not always possible to completely eliminate the pain, but to bring it to an acceptable level. If you still feel pain, you should always report it.

Meals

During your stay, a dietician will visit you to ask about your dietary habits and/or diet. After all, it is important that your diet corresponds to the needs of your health. Based on this one-time survey, the standard meals will be adjusted individually and you can also choose your own menu via our C-meal app. If you have any questions, you can always contact the dietician in your department.

As with many public places, hospitals are often targets of theft.

So keep in mind the following tips:

  • Leave all valuables at home and bring as little money as possible to the hospital.
  • Don't leave your purse, wallet or other valuables unattended when you leave the room. Most rooms have a storage locker, of which it is best to make use of.
  • Take care of your personal belongings such as glasses, dentures, linen yourself.
  • For the maternity ward: on the birth announcement card at your room door, make your address information illegible.
  • If you notice anything suspicious, notify a nurse or the reception desk immediately.
  • The hospital cannot be held responsible for loss or theft.

If you've forgotten or lost items in the hospital, it is best to contact reception as soon as possible. Found items can be picked up for up to one month afterwards.

During your stay at the hospital, you can access the hospital's WIFI network free of charge.

Your resignation

Your treating physician determines the day and time of your discharge from the hospital. He/she will give you a letter for your family doctor or send it directly.

The nurse in charge will discuss with you - if necessary - the medication schedule to be followed, the diet and further aftercare. You will receive the necessary discharge documents for this purpose. Do not leave without informing the nurses, because they will have to give you the necessary documents.

It is possible that the nurses of the ward may ask you to leave your room while waiting for your discharge and take a seat in the day room of the ward where you are staying.

If you require a cab or ambulance for your transportation, please ask your ward nurse in good time.

TIP: If you've got a lot of luggage, you can borrow a luggage cart at the reception desk. Our reception staff will be happy to help you with this.
