Tailor's bunion

A tailor's bunion is a deformity in which the little toe is crooked and points more toward the big toe. This creates a lump that is often painful and red from friction in the shoe.

What are the symptoms of a tailor's bunion?

The lump often causes symptoms when wearing tight-fitting footwear. You usually experience pain and redness.

How is a tailor's bunion treated?

Wide shoes and possibly an orthotic can be chosen as treatment.

When the adjustment in shoes or orthotics does not help enough, surgery is needed to correct the sloping position of the little toe. This is usually done via day surgery. You can read more about the surgery and the aftercare in the brochures below.
