Pathologists examine biopsies of body tissue, larger (surgical) resections and cells from body fluids. Using macroscopic and microscopic examination, the pathologist will make a diagnosis and advise the attending doctor or general practitioner. This examination is an important part in the diagnosis of cancer, as well as inflammatory reactions in organs.

Falls Clinic
The falls clinic of Sint-Trudo Hospital focuses on patients with walking and/or balance disorders and recurrent falls. A multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, geriatricians and nurses will help you with a screening and give you tailored advice to avoid falls to the maximum.
About 30% of people over the age of 65 fall once a year. Due to the aging of the population, the number of fall incidents is increasing. Direct injuries from a fall include bone fractures, soft tissue injuries and cerebral disorders. In addition, there are the psychological consequences of a fall, where the fear of another fall can undermine self-reliance. Both aspects can jeopardize independent functioning in the home situation.
