Conisation of the cervix
Conisation is a minor procedure in which the gynaecologist removes a cone-shaped piece of tissue from the cervix. This is done when abnormal cells have been detected, for example after a smear test or a colposcopy. The procedure helps remove abnormal cells and allows the tissue to be examined more closely.
