Ophthalmology

Our ophthalmology department is responsible for diagnosis, treatment and surgical procedures on the eye.

What can we help you with?

Our team of specialized ophthalmologists is ready to provide you with the correct diagnosis and treatment based on examinations.

Subspecialties in our ophthalmology service:

  • General eye examinations and treatments
  • Medical retina
  • Medical glaucoma
  • Cataract surgery
  • Esthetic and functional eyelid surgery
  • Lacrimal duct surgery

Strabismus (squint)

Strabismus is a misalignment of the eyes, where they do not look at the same point at the same time. This can cause double vision, reduced depth perception or eye strain. At the ophthalmology department, we look for the underlying cause and discuss with you which treatment suits you best, such as glasses, eye muscle exercises, patching or surgery.

You can find more information in the brochure below.

Vitreoretinal surgery

Vitreoretinal surgery is a specialised procedure on the retina and the vitreous, the gel-like substance inside the eye. This operation is needed for conditions such as retinal detachment, a macular hole or bleeding inside the eye. At the ophthalmology department, we carefully assess which treatment is needed and guide you step by step, from preparation through to recovery.
